Thomas Schlomann, 84, River Edge Resident

RIVER EDGE, N.J. — River Edge resident Thomas Schlomann died Tuesday, May 31. He was 84.

Schlomann was the sole proprietor of Tom's Auto Parts. 

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council #5015 in River Edge. 

Schlomann is survived by his wife, Johanna (Schultz); daughter, Gail and her husband Kevin Johns; son, Thomas and his wife Annemarie Schlomann; son, John and his wife Lori Schlomann; and daughter, Suzanne Skarzynski. He also is survived by his brother, James Schlomann, grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Kristine, John, Joseph, Matthew, Missy, Jessica, Alek, Kevin, Katie, and Elizabeth; and great-grandson, Trevor. 

Schlomann was predeceased by his parents, Adelaide and Fred Schlomann; and brother, Robert Schlomann. 

Family and friends are invited to visit from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell. 

Funeral service will begin from the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Saturday before a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's the Apostle Church, 445 Fifth Ave., River Edge. 

Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the River Edge Volunteer Ambulance Department, 210 Continental Ave., River Edge, or Villa Marie Claire Hospice 12 W. Saddle River Road, Saddle River.
